QA Automation Engineer

Job TitleJob InformationLocation: Rancho Bernardo, CA, USAJob DescriptionPrimary Responsibilities:Perform activities and operations related to quality assurance for the production QA teamEnsure that products meet or exceed quality standards set forth by the teamDevelop and run automated test cases (functional, performance and system regression tests)Participate in the software delivery process by reviewing functional and design specifications, authoring and reviewing test casesProduce high-value/real-world test cases based on a thorough and deep understanding of the system, sub-components, and use casesCoordinate efforts and communication with the developers and other team members to ensure resolution of defects, and managing (triage) defects in the bug tracking system that are identified through the QA processActively participate and/or commit in the execution of tasks required to meet the milestones and deliverables set by the SCRUM team throughout the release cycleMonitor production system issues and provide timely response and QA support for making necessary patches and updatesSkill SetQualifications:Four-year technical degree or equivalent work experience5+ years recent experience in software quality assuranceUnderstanding of the entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assuranceStrong technical and analytical skillsAble to work well both independently and with a highly collaborative team to ensure qualityExperience building acceptance/functional automated tests for white-box and/or black-box testingExperience with configuration management/version control applications e.g. Perforce, GitExperience working with database systems in either a quality assurance or development capacityExperience with troubleshooting tools and analyzing logs using common UNIX/Linux utilitiesDeep understanding and/or experience of internet technologies ( DNS, TCP/IP) and highly complex multi-tiered commerce platformsExperience with troubleshooting difficult production issues e.g. memory leaks, networking problems, intermittent failures, etc. across the stackExcellent verbal and written communication skillsFlexible schedule is a mustPreferred:Experience in Agile / Scrum methodologyExperience with multi-tiered commerce platforms, payment processing, and DB systemsExperience with test automation development and toolsExperience testing web services/APIs such as: REST, SOAPExperience in one or more of the following technical areas desired:RDBMS and NoSQL Systems: Oracle, PL/SQL, Cassandra, MongoDBProgramming/Scripting languages: Java, C++, Perl, Python, Groovy, Scala, Shell ScriptingWeb and/or Servlet containers: Apache Server, Apache TomcatOperating Systems: Windows and UNIX/LinuxAutomation tools: Selenium, WebDriver, Geb, Cucumber-jvm, JUnit, TestNG, JMeterTest Tools: Rally, Quality Center, Silk Central, Splunk, Wireshark
