Details Inpatient Medical Surgical Oncology unit within a 36-bed hospital setting Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Various days of the week with weekend requirements per unit needs Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 on day shift and 1:5 on night shift, with flexibility based on staffing needs Uses Epic charting system Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities based on facility needs No on-call requirements Requirements Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand Current BLS certification required Chemo (ONS/ONCC) and OCN certifications preferred Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required Trauma Level II experience required Epic charting experience required Prior experience working in environments with flexible staffing ratios required Skilled in IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, central line and PICC line care Experience recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring preferred Skilled in symptom management including nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, altered mental status, and edema Experience with chest tube care, colostomy/ileostomy management, foley catheter care, and wound care preferred Comfortable administering IV push narcotics and managing PCA pumps Additional Information Provide comprehensive nursing care to inpatient oncology patients including chemotherapy administration and management of oncologic emergencies Deliver psychosocial care including advanced directives, hospice care, and symptom management Navy scrub color required Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods where RTO is not allowed No blocked scheduling requests permitted Completion of facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment First-time travelers are welcome to apply Previous employment history with the health system and its affiliates will be reviewed for eligibility Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility may be considered American Traveler Job ID P-742121.
