Then the South Carolina Department of Social Services has the right job opportunity for you.Job Duties:The ES Eligibility Specialist provides services in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations and agency policies and procedures, performing general work duties related to the administration of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) includes EDSAP (Elderly or Disabled Simplified Application Project) in the Economic Services Division in the county office to help restore or improve customer financial stability.Conducts a minimum of 7 - 9 quality interviews per day to include both phone and/or face-to-face interviews for SNAP applications and/or renewals.Processes all SNAP (to include EDSAP) applications and/or recertifications by determining eligibility and authorizing benefits if applicable.Maintains case records and files in agency designated computer system for documentation and auditing purposes as required by agency policy in a confidential, timely, and accurate manner. Documents client work participation activities in agency designated system. Enters timely documentation in SCOSA of events/activities that may affect client's eligibility.Identifies and documents over payments and makes at least 3 possible claims referrals to the Benefit Integrity Unit; prepares supporting documents for Fair Hearings and attends hearings as directed.Participates in all Economic Services required trainings and supervisory and/or staff meetings as required.Ensures personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared, and disposed. Protects the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment, and data.Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed.Performs other related duties as requested.Minimum and Additional RequirementsA High School Diploma and relevant program experience in clerical administration, social work, correctional administration, and general business administration. A Bachelor's Degree may be substituted for one year of relevant program experience.Additional CommentsThis application for employment with the SC Department of Social Services must be completed in its entirety.
