The Opportunity
We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our firm as a Senior Structural Engineer . In this role, you will be the technical authority for our structural division, overseeing the design, analysis, and sealing of plans for a diverse range of projects Commercial. We are looking for a leader who values technical excellence, mentored growth for junior staff, and the highest standards of structural integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Structural Design & Analysis: Perform complex calculations and modeling for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures using RISA-3D, RAM, or ETABS.
- Sealing & Certification: Act as the Engineer of Record (EOR), reviewing and sealing structural drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Project Oversight: Manage the full project lifecycle from initial feasibility studies and schematic design through construction administration.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and quality control reviews for EITs and CAD designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Collaboration: Interface with clients, architects, and local building officials to solve complex engineering challenges and ensure code compliance (IBC, ASCE 7, etc.).
- Site Inspections: Conduct field observations and structural assessments to verify construction aligns with design intent.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory. (Ability to obtain licensure in Oregon and Washington via comity within 6 months if currently licensed elsewhere).
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of experience in structural design.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in structural analysis software and a strong working knowledge of BIM/Revit workflows.
- Code Expertise: Deep understanding of current building codes and industry standards.
