Forklift Operator Location: Metairie / Elmwood Area, LA Job Type: Full-Time Pay Rate: $17.00 – $18.00 / hour (based on experience) Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating powered industrial trucks to safely move, stage, load, and unload materials, pallets, and products throughout the facility. Key Responsibilities Forklift Operation: Safely operate sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and material handling equipment to move inventory. Loading & Unloading: Unload incoming freight, verify shipment counts against bills of lading, and safely load outgoing trucks and trailers. Stocking & Staging: Move materials to designated storage racks, stage orders for shipment, and maintain organized inventory lanes. Safety & Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-shift equipment inspections, report maintenance needs, and adhere strictly to OSHA and warehouse safety standards. Inventory & Order Support: Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and order picking as needed. Compensation & Schedule Pay Rate: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour Schedule: Full-time, standard day shift (Monday – Friday) Qualifications & Requirements 1–2+ years of continuous forklift operating experience in a warehouse or distribution environment. Active forklift operator certification preferred (or ability to pass on-site certification). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and work on your feet throughout the shift.
