Astrophysics: Stellar Activity

Overview The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) seeks a postdoctoral researcher to study stellar activity in partially and fully convective stars ( Responsibilities Analyze time‑series and other data to investigate stellar activity phenomena. Develop multi‑wavelength observational strategies to study magnetic activity indicators. Conduct comparative studies of different activity indicators across spectral bands. Assess the influence of stellar activity on exoplanet atmospheres. Propose and execute projects that combine multiple NASA resources (e.g., TESS, Swift, NICER). Qualifications Ph.D. in astronomy, physics, or a closely related discipline. Prior experience with time‑domain astrophysics analyses and multi‑wavelength studies. Strong quantitative, computational, and data‑analysis skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams. Eligibility Requirements United States citizens. U.S. lawful permanent residents (LPR). Foreign nationals eligible for an Exchange Visitor J‑1 visa status.
