Role Description The Mortgage Loan Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Overland Park, KS. This role is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans, guiding clients through the application process, and ensuring a smooth, compliant transaction from initial consultation to closing. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with prospective borrowers, assessing their financial profiles, recommending appropriate loan products, and explaining terms and conditions in a clear and accessible way. The Mortgage Loan Officer will collaborate with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to gather documentation, resolve conditions, and meet closing timelines. The role also involves maintaining strong client relationships, providing ongoing support, and adhering to company policies, industry regulations, and community guidelines. Qualifications Experience as a Loan Officer with a proven record of originating and managing residential mortgage loans. Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and current market practices, including familiarity with conventional, FHA, VA, and other loan products. Hands-on experience in Mortgage Lending processes, including application intake, documentation review, and pipeline management. Understanding of Underwriting principles and guidelines to effectively structure and present loan files. Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and support clients of diverse backgrounds. Relevant state licensing and registration as required (e.g., NMLS registration); ability to maintain all regulatory compliance standards. Solid analytical, math, and financial assessment skills; comfort working with credit reports, income documentation, and debt-to-income calculations. Effective collaboration and time-management abilities, with capacity to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
