For more than four decades, Banner Behavioral Health has provided 24/7 crisis intervention and therapeutic services in a medically safe, recovery-focused environment. Banner Behavioral Health has 156 licensed inpatient beds and is located in Scottsdale, AZ. Our focus is on adults and adolescents dealing with mental health and/or chemical dependency issues who voluntarily seek help. Our highly skilled and compassionate staff are dedicated to providing a therapeutic healing environment and excellent health care experience.
Core Functions
- Oversees physician engagement, productivity, staffing, recruitment, and monitors physicians for signs of burnout while providing career development, mentorship, performance feedback, and improvement plans.
- Promotes quality improvement concepts and establishes effective working relationships with physicians and provider stakeholders. Participates in review of qualifications, credentials, performance, and professional competence.
- Provides clinical oversight and reviews quality data. Works within the leadership model to establish, monitor, and improve aggregate clinical outcomes through care management activities that improve patient safety, reduce variation, and implement evidence-based standards.
- Strategizes and drives process improvements focused on innovative care delivery and operational models designed to improve clinical services, outcomes, patient throughput, and patient safety while promoting a patient-centered, healing environment.
- Partners closely with operational partners to achieve clinical and operational excellence. Develops cross-disciplinary clinical integration to provide a seamless patient experience and understand market factors that inform strategy and growth opportunities.
- Functions as an integral member of executive leadership team, building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate, hospital, and medical staff leaders. Serves in an advisory capacity regarding strategic development and implementation of clinical and operational services.
- Promotes financial stewardship and clinical excellence by allocating financial, information, and human capital for improvement activities. Establishes performance measures and ensures efficient delivery of cost-effective services.
- Champions service excellence philosophies and behaviors, models a service-oriented culture focused on employee/provider engagement, quality, patient safety, fiscal responsibility, and overall patient experience. Ensures compliance with all applicable policies, regulations, and laws.
Minimum Qualifications
Medical Doctorate or Doctor of Osteopathy Degree required with Board Certification and level of expertise typically gained through five years of experience in clinical practice and three years of medical staff leadership experience. Must be eligible for or hold a current and unrestricted State license to practice medicine and must be eligible for medical staff privileges. (CMOs assigned to oversee the Specialty Pharmacy must hold a current and unrestricted State license). Depending upon assigned area of responsibility, position may require applicable certifications and/or licensures, including but not limited to: MD or DO; Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
Depending upon assignment, may prefer experience within a multi-unit hospital system. Experience with organized hospital medical staff, managed care organizations, and continuous quality improvement activities. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
