Our plant is unique in that we have two product platforms: flour and dry mixes. The flour we produce is integrated into our Betty Crocker mixes. We are a small plant with a great culture where you will get to know the people you work with. Fun facts about Avon are that we produce an average of 1.1 million pounds of flour a day and about 100 million Betty Crocker pouches a year. When making our chocolate chip cookie mix, around 2000 pounds of chocolate is added per hour to the packaging line!$24.81 per hour starting pay$0.50 per hour additional pay for 2nd shift and 3rd shiftPremium pay opportunities, including overtime after 8 hours (1.5x), Saturday hours (1.5x), and Sunday hours (2x/double time)Great paid time off benefits (includes vacation, sick time and holidays)401(k) with company matchPensionBonus Incentive ProgramHealth Insurance (includes medical, dental, vision and life)Career growth and cross-training opportunities8-hour shifts2nd Shift: 3 pm to 11 pm3rd shift: 11 pm to 7 amCurrently hiring for 2nd shift and/or 3rd shift (dependent upon business need)Dependent upon business need, this position may require the ability to work 6 and/or 7 days per week (more information provided during interview)Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, including 4 hours prior to or over scheduled shift (when needed)Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a weekAs part of our manufacturing team, you will:Be responsible for the movement and storage of raw material; ingredients and finished products; inbound and outbound shipments; and production inventory needsSafely operate forklift within production/packaging and warehouse operationsSelect, prepare, and load products for outbound shipment per customer specificationsBe responsible for the storage of raw materials and finished productsReceive, unload, and inspect inbound materialsParticipate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performanceAssist in training new employeesMinimum of a high school diploma or GEDMinimum of 2 years of forklift operating experienceExperience in warehouse operations and use of WMS strongly preferredAbility to obtain and maintain forklift and/or Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV/POV) certificationBasic computer skills with the ability to use digital tools and systems to complete daily work tasksMust possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace regarding work matters (our business is generally conducted in English)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periodsWillingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditionsAbility to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platformsAbility to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standardsAbility to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and face masks (when required)Ability to work around high-speed machinery and food allergensManufacturing or production experienceApplicants must meet a minimum 18-year age qualification.General Mills is an equal opportunity employer.
