Dental Assistant

Full-time Dental Assistant Location: Sunnyvale, CA. Work schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-6:30pm (variations may occur). What You’ll Do Provide chair-side assistance to dental providers during procedures (operative, preventive, periodontal, endodontic, prosthetic, and other dental procedures). Prepare, sterilize, organize, and set up dental equipment following all dental sterilization guidelines. Monitor and maintain dental inventory, supplies and equipment (compressor, evacuator, sterilizers, light-curing units, etc.) per manufacturer guidelines. Take dental radiographs according to provider orders; assist in monitoring and maintaining radiation safety procedures and protocols. Help develop and participate in performance-improvement activities related to the dental practice, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards. Provide excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, fax or face-to-face contact to assist patients with healthcare needs. Manage patients during dental procedures, including instrument transfer, isolation, oral evacuation, retraction, and preparation of dental instruments and materials; chart examinations and treatment results in patient records. Maintain daily logs on daily maintenance procedures. Maintain dental laboratory slips creating records of incoming and outgoing cases. Maintain proper maintenance of dental charts and forms. Provide patients with written and oral post-operative instructions for dental procedures. Teach patients appropriate oral-hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (tooth brushing, flossing, nutritional counseling). Take accurate patient history and vital signs. What You’ll Bring Documentation of state/national license/registration (e.g., Dental Assisting National Board – Certified Dental Assistant (DANB CDA)), with copy of license or verification. Copy of Radiation Safety/X-ray Certificate or equivalent if not DANB CDA, as required by state dental board. CPR certification (BLS for community/lay responder or Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer); must include front and back of card and a "hands-on" evaluation by trainer/instructor. Graduate from an accredited Dental Assistant Program or have at least 2 years of experience. Previous experience with digital imaging preferred. Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records (Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Nextgen).
