Join us for a Postdoctoral Scientist position in the Rankin Lab, Cell Cycle and Cancer Biology Research Program, focusing on chromosome assembly and dynamics. Position Overview We will investigate chromosome structure, replication, and inheritance using cellular, biochemical, embryonic, and advanced microscopy methods. Postdocs will receive mentorship, training, and career development support. Responsibilities Use molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and genomic techniques to define mechanisms underlying chromosome stability. Analyze data and maintain detailed experimental records. Collaborate with other scientists in the department and beyond. Prepare manuscripts and presentations for conferences. Apply for outside funding, with help from the PI, as eligible. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in a biological science, chemistry, physics, or other relevant area; M.D.; or equivalent. Interest in learning new techniques and exploring complex biological questions. Ability to interpret experimental data and summarize findings. Commitment to participate in lab and departmental activities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated initiative in independent research projects. Strong teamwork and collaborative skills. Preferred Qualifications Prior research experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology.
