Frying Pan is a seasonal waterfront restaurant and bar located aboard a historic floating vessel on the Hudson River in Chelsea. For decades, we've been one of New York City's most recognizable hospitality destinations, serving locals and visitors alike with genuine hospitality, fresh coastal fare, handcrafted cocktails, and unforgettable skyline views.

We're seeking a polished, hospitality-focused Host / Reservationist who understands that exceptional service begins the moment a guest arrives. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys creating memorable first impressions, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in organization, communication, and professionalism.

As the face of our restaurant, you'll work alongside managers and the front-of-house team to ensure every guest's experience starts—and ends—on the right note.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with warmth, confidence, and professionalism.
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists using Resy.
• Coordinate seating to maximize guest experience while supporting efficient service.
• Answer phones and assist guests with reservations, directions, and general inquiries.
• Communicate accurate wait times and reservation updates.
• Check in private event and catering guests, including verifying guest lists and distributing wristbands when applicable.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand.
• Communicate effectively with managers, servers, bartenders, and support staff throughout service.
• Assist with guest requests and help resolve issues with professionalism and urgency.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of menus, daily specials, restaurant policies, and upcoming events.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, hospitality, hotel, or guest service experience preferred.
• Experience with Resy, OpenTable, or similar reservation platforms is a plus.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Calm under pressure with excellent multitasking abilities.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable.
• Positive attitude with a genuine passion for hospitality.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
