Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapist (Contractor) Tohaali Community School in Newcomb, NM is looking for an Occupational Therapist to support students with OT services during the 2026–2027 school year. This is a contracted, in-person role serving a Native American community in Newcomb. Compensation • $100,000–$125,000 per year ($55–$70/hr), depending on experience • Mileage reimbursement: $0.725 per mile (2026 IRS federal rate) • Moving/relocation assistance available Position Details • 180 school days school per year plus summer compensatory hours (Roughly 1800 hours per year) • On-site hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday • No weekends or federal/tribal holidays Responsibilities Include • Providing individual and group occupational therapy to eligible students per their IEPs • Conducting evaluations and comprehensive assessments for referred students • Attending IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings • Maintaining service logs, mileage logs, and student progress reports • Developing IEP goals and objectives and preparing written reports • Consulting with parents, teachers, and school staff • Supporting compliance with Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) and federal special education requirements Requirements • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution • Current, unrestricted OT license from the State of New Mexico • Must pass a federal BIE background investigation prior to starting • U.S. citizenship required If you are interested in making an impact in a tribal school setting with a consistent school-year schedule, please apply here.
