Wealth Planning Consultant, Senior Specialist

As a Wealth Planning Consultant, Senior Specialist with Vanguard, you’ll be part of the Advice and Wealth Management division advising ultra‑high net worth clients and their families through complex investment journeys by providing advanced estate planning, income tax, and financial planning analysis. Responsibilities Provide income tax, estate planning, and wealth planning consultations to Vanguard’s largest advised clients. Review client information and documentation, research client issues, perform analysis, and create client deliverables. Guide and develop other wealth and estate planning team members within the advice offer. Partner with financial advisors to support clients in these subject areas and follow Vanguard’s investment methodology. Align with other wealth and estate planning teams to ensure services across offers are similar in philosophy and design. Serve as an internal and external subject‑matter expert on wealth planning topics. Contribute to thought‑leadership initiatives and Vanguard’s external publications. Analyze internal systems and processes to identify opportunities to improve the client experience and mitigate risk. Maintain strong knowledge of compliance, regulatory and departmental policies, and general market trends. Support department and team initiatives, participate in special projects, and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Undergraduate degree required. Graduate degree (JD, MBA, Master of Tax) or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Minimum of eight years related work experience and four years of project management experience preferred. Experience in financial services encouraged. CFP, CPA, and/or active law license preferred, as well as other relevant designations. Other Considerations Must be able to commute to the Scottsdale, AZ office, Charlotte, NC, or Malvern, PA offices for a hybrid three‑day in‑office work schedule. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate. Travel to Vanguard offices for training, off‑sites, or client meetings in other locations is expected (20%‑40% of time). Candidates not located in Scottsdale, AZ may need to travel more frequently to the AZ office. Experience working remotely with the ability to work independently while contributing to a team is preferred; schedule will be hybrid with two days remote.
