The Opportunity We're expanding our engineering team and are hiring experienced HVAC Design Engineers at either the Design Engineer II or Design Engineer III level. The final level, compensation, and responsibilities will be based on your experience, technical expertise, licensure, and overall qualifications. Whether you're ready to continue growing your technical skills or take on larger, more complex projects with increasing leadership responsibilities, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do Design HVAC systems for large multifamily residential construction projects from concept through construction. Perform engineering calculations including heating and cooling loads, ventilation analysis, equipment selection, and duct sizing. Prepare construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit. Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, plumbing, and electrical disciplines. Participate in design and coordination meetings while resolving technical challenges. Support construction through submittal reviews, RFIs, and field observations. Perform QA/QC reviews of engineering documents. Mentor junior engineers and design technicians. Help improve engineering standards, processes, and design best practices. What Success Looks Like During your first year, you'll: Lead HVAC designs on multiple multifamily construction projects. Become a trusted technical resource for project teams. Build strong partnerships with architects, project managers, and field operations. Mentor junior engineers while helping elevate design quality across the team. Contribute to improving engineering standards and best practices. What You Bring Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited program. Progressive experience designing HVAC building systems within an MEP consulting or design-build environment. Experience with multifamily, mixed-use, or commercial projects is preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license or active pursuit of licensure preferred. Technical Skills Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit required. Experience with Navisworks, Bluebeam, or BIM 360 is a plus. Strong understanding of HVAC system design, ASHRAE standards, and applicable building codes. Excellent communication, organization, and project coordination skills. The expected hiring range for this position is $93,000 - $131,000 annually. Actual compensation will depend on level, experience, certifications and technical expertise.
