About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-surg Adult Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: Current CPR/BLS Card, ACLS Must-Have: Stroke certification, ability to work three 12-hour shifts, availability for every other weekend and holiday Description: This position is for a nursing role in a medical-surgical adult setting. The unit consists of 25 beds, with a mix of private and semi-private rooms. The nursing ratio is 5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nights. Nurses may occasionally have a total care patient. The patient population includes a variety of medical conditions, with a significant number of stroke patients. The unit primarily accepts strokes that do not require thrombolytic therapy, as well as comfort care or hospice patients. Post-operative cases include amputations, drainage management, chest tube care, and feeding tube management. Other conditions treated include heparin drips, wound care, altered mental status, CIWA patients, acute kidney injury, dialysis, and COPD exacerbations. Candidates must possess the necessary certifications and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Nurses are expected to collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the best patient outcomes. Flexibility, strong communication skills, and clinical competency are essential for success in this position.
