We are on the lookout for a motivated and seasoned Family Medicine Program Director to join us in Livonia, Michigan. The selected candidate will be instrumental in shaping the program's structure, ensuring clinical excellence, and formulating long-term strategies while continuing clinical practice.

• Oversee the administration and operations of the program, including teaching, scholarly activities, and trainee recruitment, selection, evaluation, and promotion.
• Implement disciplinary actions and supervise trainees, ensuring their education aligns with patient care.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant ACGME program requirements.
• Design and execute the program to meet community needs and align with the mission of the Sponsoring Institution.
• Serve as a role model for professionalism, fostering a respectful and equitable environment free from discrimination and harassment.
• Promote patient safety and personal accountability, prioritizing patient needs above self-interest.
• Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages trainees to voice concerns without fear of retaliation.
• Manage activities across all clinical sites, including the authority to select and dismiss teaching faculty and appoint local site directors.
• Ensure appropriate supervision levels for trainees based on their PGY-level, abilities, and patient complexity.
• Engage in systematic recruitment and retention efforts to build a diverse and inclusive workforce.
• Submit accurate information to the DIO, GMEC, and ACGME, and prepare for program reviews.
• Maintain up-to-date program and trainee records through the ACGME ADS tracking system.
• Implement GME policies and grievance procedures in accordance with ACGME standards.
• Participate in educational programs aimed at enhancing the skills of program directors and teaching faculty.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive educational curriculum that supports competency development and meets curricular requirements.
• Organize an effective Annual Program Evaluation (APE) with a designated Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) and create an annual improvement plan.
• Conduct regular evaluations of trainee performance and provide semi-annual Milestone and Case Log summaries, along with individualized learning plans.
• Establish a Clinical Competence Committee to guide trainee promotions and ensure graduates possess the necessary skills for autonomous practice.
• Evaluate core faculty members annually on various performance metrics, including teaching abilities and professionalism.
• Collaborate with the Department Chair and Division Head to ensure trainees are appropriately assigned and supervised in clinical settings.
• Work with the Director of Medical Education (DME) to ensure the program operates efficiently and effectively, advocating for necessary resources.
• Participate in GMEC meetings as requested by the GME Committee Chair.
• Engage in scholarly activities, including quality improvement projects, curriculum innovations, and presentations at Grand Rounds.
• Regularly participate in didactics, clinical discussions, and research conferences to foster a culture of inquiry and scholarship.
• Collaborate with the Program Administrator to manage program logistics effectively.

• Specialty expertise with a minimum of 3 years of documented educational or administrative experience, or qualifications acceptable to the ACGME Review Committee.
• Current certification in the specialty by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Board of Medical Specialties.
• Valid medical license and appropriate medical staff appointment.
• Active engagement in clinical practice.
• Academically and attitudinally suited to lead the training program.
• Meets annual CME requirements to maintain certification.
