REQUIREMENTS AND DUTIES:
Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Med-Surg setting. Communicates with the physicians, RN, Med-Surg Coordinator, and co-workers, as appropriate about the changes in the patient’s condition. Must respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Participates in performance improvement and QI activities. Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and the patient’s clinical condition. Demonstrates the ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment under the supervision of an RN. This includes pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population. Demonstrates the ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills. Reports to Director of ICU, Med Surg & ER. Must have at least 1 year of nursing experience in one of the areas. Current Louisiana LPN license required.
