The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments, and informatics systems is often the first step in patient care decision-making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers. **What You’ll Work On****The Scientist hired in this role will execute** and conduct research and development. They will also recommend improvements and/or new procedures related to products. In addition, they will plan and present data within team, with supervision.In addition:* **Run laboratory experiments and tests**, analyze results, and help develop or improve testing methods under guidance from senior scientists.* **Manage multiple projects at once**, troubleshoot issues with equipment or experiments, and recommend solutions when problems arise.* **Write protocols, reports, and documentation**, including validation activities, technical summaries, and material requests needed to complete projects.* **Present findings and collaborate with team members**, contributing ideas and supporting project planning and execution.* **Maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment**, ensuring quality standards, equipment maintenance, and regulatory requirements are followed.**Required Qualifications*** Bachelor's Degree in biological or physical sciences, or mathematics; with minimum of 2-3 yrs. or M.S. with 0 to 2 years' experience* Working knowledge of experimental approaches/protocols and scientific methods such as designing experiments and interpreting data.* Awareness of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics* Basic computer skills - able to learn new computer programs**Preferred Qualifications:*** Molecular biology knowledge or previous work history.* Previous experience with electronic notebook entries and experiment documentation.* Prior experience with PCR or related technology.* Previous experience with testing protocol execution.**Learn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:** your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
