Architectural Job Captain – Education We are currently seeking an energetic, confident, and highly motivated candidate to join our Irvine, CA office. The role reports to a senior project team member and involves technical design leadership for major or multiple small projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet client needs. This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at our Irvine, CA office. What You Will Do Provide professional architectural consultation from Design Development through building permit submission and Construction Administration. Apply advanced architectural concepts and designs. Review drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Monitor budgets and schedules and maintain project documentation. Submit reports and specifications as requested. Maintain positive working relationships with clients, outside consultants, and technical staff. Supervise technical staff and redline others’ work as required. What You Will Bring Proficiency in building codes, understanding of product types and how code determines construction. Strong skills in production of construction drawings, from start to finish. Expertise in SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Revit/BIM; Adobe Design Suite experience preferred. Experience working in construction phases of projects. Self‑motivated ability to work independently and in a team environment to coordinate with other design professionals. Excellent problem‑solving, independent thinking, good listening, and strong follow‑through. Excellent graphic, communication, organizational, and collaborative skills. Ability to effectively and positively provide direction and lead architectural staff. Your Qualifications 4+ years of experience, with at least 2 years as a job captain. California K‑12 experience required; DSA experience required. Bachelor or Master of Architecture required. Recent experience working on architectural projects within the United States. Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. building codes, permitting processes, and construction practices. Experience coordinating with U.S.-based clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies. Commitment to professional growth; preferably obtaining licensure as an architect. Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions. Visa sponsorship is not offered. Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications. Salary range: $80,000–$90,000.
