Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid RN Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Experience with Epic charting system Description: Demonstrates the ability to utilize all components of the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating care to meet the individual patient’s needs according to age, culture, and condition. Assesses patients and identifies both obvious and subtle problems or abnormal assessments. Anticipates changes in patient condition and appropriately reports and resolves issues. Develops a plan of care based on age-specific assessments. Involves patients, families, and interdisciplinary resources to develop and revise the plan of care. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care in compliance with standards. Provides assistance to others in implementing complex care and treatments within their age-specific categories. Administers medications and treatments according to policy and accepted standards. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers. Participates in multidisciplinary patient care conferences as needed. Promotes a climate in which patients and families may act in their own interest and intervenes as an advocate when necessary. Reassesses and evaluates patient responses to care and takes appropriate actions to ensure patient needs are met. Participates with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team in the evaluation of patient outcomes. Documents patient care provided in accordance with policies. Demonstrates leadership in daily activities on the unit.
