Custodian, Head I (457A) Division: Operational Support Department: Maintenance Services Primary Function: Supervises, under the principal’s direction, the total custodial program of the school assigned. Position Type: Full‑time Salary Schedule: Classified Hourly Responsibilities Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. Assigns duties, supervises and assists in the total custodial program of the school. Reports problem areas to Head Custodian II. Provides periodic 24-hour, 7‑day on‑call support. Oversees proper use and storage of all equipment and supplies. Performs minor maintenance as needed. Maintains an understanding of custodial procedures and equipment. Secures building as directed. Cleans entire building regardless of ceiling height, including dining areas. Changes light bulbs in ceilings up to 10 feet in height. Assumes Head Custodian II duties as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate designee. Requirements Educational Level: None. Certification/License Required: None. Experience: Minimum one‑year CCSD custodial experience or minimum three years custodial experience outside CCSD. Physical Activities: Routine physical activities such as walking, standing, kneeling, negotiating stairs and ladders, and lifting and transporting 75 pounds over short distances. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Written and oral communication; leadership, cleaning, operation of cleaning equipment.
