Accounting Operations Contractor

A client of Insight Global is seeking an accounting operations contractor to provide hands-on support across month-end close, expense operations, accounts payable, and financial reporting during a period of increased operational demand and process improvement. This is an execution-focused role, ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who is comfortable working across multiple systems, supporting month-end activities, and keeping operational tasks moving forward. The contractor will partner closely with internal finance stakeholders and external vendors to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across a variety of finance-operations workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Month-End Close Support: Prepare and post routine journal entries; assist with accruals, prepaids, and balance-sheet reconciliations; help assemble monthly financial packages and supporting schedules.
• Expense Operations: Review and audit employee expense reports for policy compliance; resolve exceptions; coordinate corrections and approvals; support process improvements to reduce cycle time and errors.
• Accounts Payable (AP): Process invoices and vendor credits; triage discrepancies; support vendor onboarding and maintenance; monitor aging and assist with payment runs to meet terms.
• Financial Reporting Assistance: Compile operational data, reconcile sub-ledgers to the GL, and contribute to timely reporting with appropriate controls and documentation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance leadership, AP/AR, procurement, and external vendors to keep tasks moving and resolve blockers quickly.
• Controls & Compliance: Uphold company policies and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP), documenting workflows and maintaining audit-ready records.

This is a fully remote position and will pay between $30-40/hour.
