About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour or Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Current nursing license required (VA or compact state) Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Previous experience in CSICU or CVICU at a level 1 facility - EPIC charting experience required - Invasive hemodynamic monitoring experience - CRRT, IABP, and ECMO experience - Ability to recover post-op cardio-thoracic surgery patients Description: The position is for a registered nurse in a cardiovascular intensive care unit. The unit consists of 14 beds with a daily census of 13 patients. Nursing assignments include caring for 1-2 patients with diagnoses such as CABGs, valve repair/replacements, aortic surgeries, VADs, total artificial hearts, and heart/liver/kidney transplants. Experience with thoracic cases, esophagectomies, and vascular surgeries is beneficial. Staff nurses provide oversight for circulatory assist devices including various LVADs, ECMO, and IABP. The environment requires skills in titration of vasoactive IV medications and post-operative recovery care. Candidates should have level I trauma experience and academic facility background. Floating within the scope may be required. A BSN is preferred, but not mandatory. All candidates must comply with natural nail policy. Candidates may be required to undergo fingerprinting as per state regulations. Candidates should ensure that any additional modules or requirements are completed as part of their orientation.
