Respiratory Care Practitioner

The Respiratory Care Practitioner possesses sufficient training and experience to perform independent professional respiratory care diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, clinical evaluations of care including the establishment of therapeutic objectives and the review of care. Supports the mission, philosophy and objectives of Hunterdon Medical Center. Primary Position Responsibilities include facilitating and coordinating duties relating to respiratory care, documentation and charging of patient care, maintaining professional development, maintaining patient safety, patient advocacy, performing pulmonary function testing if applicable, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a graduate from a respiratory therapy program, one year of acute care experience, a New Jersey license in respiratory and CPR certification, ACLS certification required; if not ACLS certified upon hire, must obtain within two years (Full or Part Time Only). PALS Certification is preferred for Full and Part Time staff. ACLS and PALS Certification are required for Per Diem employees. The ability to function independently, computer skills, and use of hospital approved equipment including but not limited to bipap/cpap; ventilators; end tidal CO2; high flow oxygen therapy and all other components of respiratory care are also required.
