Job Summary/Description: WNDU is looking for an experienced evening news anchor with a passion for delivering breaking and hard news. The ideal candidate will have strong presentation skills and experience in covering breaking news and developing unique hard news content. They will be a newsroom leader with a passion for mentoring young journalists. Candidates should be social media- and streaming-minded and be the ultimate team player. Someone who wants to just show up and read the news should NOT apply. Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Anchor newscasts, including streaming, as needed Develop and report news stories for all platforms Participate in daily editorial decisions and long-term strategic newscast initiatives Produce elements of newscasts Work on special projects, as assigned Interact with viewers and users on social media sites Qualifications/Requirements: Three years of experience as a newscast anchor preferred Strong hard news reporting skills Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to ad lib during breaking news Valid U.S. driver's license with a good, clean driving record/MVR Four-year college degree preferred Additional Info: Gray Media provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
