Payments Manager - Rahway, NJ

Merck seeks a Director of Payments to lead strategic direction and operational excellence of the credit union's payments ecosystem, including card services, ACH, digital payments, and emerging fintech integrations. The role focuses on driving member satisfaction, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute payments strategy aligned with business goals and member needs
• Oversee debit/credit/prepaid card programs, ACH, wire transfers, bill pay, and digital payments operations
• Maintain compliance with NACHA, Reg E, Reg Z, PCI DSS, and FFIEC guidelines
• Lead and develop the payments team with clear accountability and continuous improvement focus
• Manage relationships with payment processors, card networks, fintech partners, and vendors

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, information systems, or related field
• Minimum five years financial services experience with payments focus
• At least two years in a leadership role
• Deep knowledge of U.S. payments landscape, card networks, ACH, RTP, and digital wallets
• Proven vendor management, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance experience
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and project management skills

Compensation: $79,200 - $124,700 base
