Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane. Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders according to company policy. Adhere to company limits on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs). Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator. Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons. Stay current with advertisements and promotions. Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines. Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management. Inspect equipment and report repairs needed. Create a welcoming environment for customers and assist with product questions. Follow all relevant laws and company guidelines. Work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflicts cooperatively and reasonably. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
