Assistant or Associate Professor in Immunology

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa invites applications for a faculty position in Immunology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This tenure-track position includes a 12-month appointment, full fringe benefits, competitive start-up package, office and laboratory space, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities, instrumentation, and BSL3 and animal BSL3 space. The primary appointment of the faculty member will be in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. Successful applicants will be expected to establish an extramurally funded research program and to participate in teaching and mentoring activities in the Department. 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., postdoctoral research experience, and a strong record of research accomplishments. Applicants at the Associate Professor level must have an established and NIH-funded research program and demonstrated ability to mentor and teach Ph.D. graduate students. Teaching responsibilities may include immunology, host-pathogen interactions, or immune regulation. We seek applicants studying any aspects of immunology, including but not limited to innate and adaptive immunity, immune regulation and immune cell metabolism, cancer immunology, neuroimmunology, host defense against prokaryotic, eukaryotic, or viral pathogens, vaccine development, or the application of experimental in vivo systems of infection and disease.
