Pediatric Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatrics – St. Rita's Medical CenterThe Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient statusDetermining the priority of the patient's problems and needsImplementing clinical nursing interventions to acute, critical patients that require intensive medical careDeveloping and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomesEnsuring a safe and therapeutic environmentEssential Functions:In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, and safely demonstrates basic knowledge of the contemporary nursing practiceProvides episodic (outpatient) and inpatient (at designated units) pediatric nursing care where applicableApplies knowledge of contemporary Pediatric nursing practice and future innovationsUtilizes nursing practice to the care of pediatric patients that require nursing assessment and interdisciplinary team interventionsEvaluates, updates and revises plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomesAdministers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization's policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedEducation:Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)Certifications:Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)BLS Basic Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, PALS required within 6 months of hire based on departmental requirements)Experience:One (1) year of professional experience practicing as a Registered Nurse (RN)Recent Medical/Surgical, NICU, Pediatric, OB, ED or critical care experience (preferred, not required)Training:EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required)As a Bon Secours Mercy Health associate, you're part of a Mission that matters.
