Job Description: The Clinical Engineering (CE) Tech II is responsible for the maintenance and service of assigned medical equipment. Performs various tasks associated with installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of clinical equipment with minimal supervision. Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the job and an intermediate level of expertise. The CE Tech II is capable of assisting less experienced technicians. Schedule: FullTime/Benefits eligible Position requires all times of the day to access equipment which means nights/days as well as some weekend coverage will be required 40 plus hours. *This is for Saint George Hospital / Cedar City Hospital Central processing and Dialysis being supported by Clinical Engineering Field Services based out of Supply Chain Midvale Utah* Essential Functions Full understanding of medical equipment, human anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology. Proficient in troubleshooting and repair techniques to perform equipment repairs. Ability to perform preventive maintenance procedures on medium risk equipment and a limited number of high-risk medical devices. Possess the skill to utilize tools and test equipment required for job duties and responsibilities Adherence to confidentiality requirements and safeguarding of protected health information (PHI). Competent in using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for documentation. Intermediate knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to medical equipment management. Skills Communication Customer Service Individual Development Regulatory Compliance Medical Equipment Management Data Entry Time Management Computer Literacy Teaching and Training Continuous Improvement Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc. May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs. For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years’ experience working as a Clinical Engineering Tech I, or equivalent, is required. Preferred Qualifications Associate of Applied Science Degree or completion of a Biomedical Technician Certificate Course is preferred. Education will be verified. Experience in assigned medical equipment environment is preferred.
