Store Manager In Training

Overview The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a 16‑week, development‑focused role designed to prepare candidates for a CVS Store Manager position. It includes virtual and hands‑on learning with support from District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach. Responsibilities Actively engage with leaders in Key Learning Experiences to support promotion path. Support the store as a management team member and lead in accordance with CVS values and policies. Engage colleagues in the company’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health. Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service. Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth. Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s degree preferred). Retail management experience or experience as a CVS supervisor. Ability to transfer within the designated market and accept promotion to any store in that market. Willingness to work a variable schedule based on business needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Hours 45 hours per week, full time. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $18.50–$23.88 per hour (base hourly rate or base full‑time salary). The actual offer depends on experience, education, geography and other factors. Full‑time benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, wellness programs, and other resources based on eligibility. Promotion Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager; promotion is contingent upon performance and availability of openings.
