Total Beds: 60 (21 Inpatient Holding; 2 Psych Rooms, 14 Hall Spaces)

Average Patient Volume: 140-150 patients per day

Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of strong Emergency Department experience

First-time travelers are welcome

Age Range: Pediatrics to Geriatrics

Conditions Treated: Trauma, GSW, Sepsis, COVID-19, STEMI, Stroke, DKA, Mental Health Issues, Respiratory Problems, Adult Psych, Chest Pain

High Acuity Receiving Facility

Standard Ratio: 1:4 patients

Can Flex Ratio to 1:5 for Low Acuity Patients

BLS

ACLS

PALS

TNCC

NIHSS

CPI/MOAB

Traveler Competency Exam

General Emergency Department experience, including:

Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation

IV Skills

Knowledge of Drips and Medication Administration

Procedural Sedation

Blood Administration

Administration of Cardiac Medications

EPIC experience required

ER Technicians for glucose checks and splinting assistance

Charge Nurse: Rarely takes an assignment

Resource/Float Nurse (as staffing allows)

Respiratory Therapy available 24/7

ED Educator on-site

Security available for safety 24/7

House Supervisor present at all times

Pharmacy assistance available 24/7, including during codes

EMR: Epic

IV Pumps: Alaris

Medication Dispensing System: Pyxis

Telemetry Monitoring: Central and bedside monitoring at the nursing station

Occasional floating between multiple locations within the region, with prior notice of assignment

Mid-shift floating may occur, but is not routine

Initial Orientation includes badge issuance and EPIC training if required

Followed by 3-4 shifts with a preceptor on assigned shift

Traveler Telemetry Competency Required

Shift Types:

Days: 0700-1900, 0900-2100

Mids: 1100-2300, 1300-0100

Evenings/Nights: 1500-0300, 1900-0700

Day/mid or night/mid shifts may be adjusted during the contract, though consistency in shifts is preferred

Schedule is released 2 weeks prior to start date

Weekend rotation: Every other weekend

Time off approval: Up to 5 days

Holiday Expectations: 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day,
