About the Role

The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist supports workplace safety, environmental compliance, and risk mitigation across operations. This role partners with operations and leadership to implement safety programs and ensure regulatory adherence. Success in this role results in reduced incidents, improved compliance, and a strong safety culture across the organization.

IMS Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the Employee Handbook, Group Code of Conduct, the Group Compliance Policy, the IMS Policy, and all other applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of the requirements of, and their individual contribution to and impact on the effectiveness of, the Integrated Management System (IMS), including Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and Product Compliance objectives and requirements.
  • Report on unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, incidents, and injuries, quality issues, compliance concerns, violations to the appropriate personnel without delay.
  • Participate in required training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Compliance Responsibilities:

Employees are responsible for reporting compliance concerns, issues, or failures through appropriate channels and for participating in required compliance training. Safety Program Implementation & Compliance
  • Support implementation of safety programs ensuring compliance with OSHA and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain safety documentation, procedures, and records supporting compliance and audit readiness.
  • Monitor workplace conditions ensuring adherence to safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Support development of policies and procedures promoting safe work practices across operations.
Incident Management & Risk Management
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Track incident data and trends supporting risk reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with operations teams to implement corrective actions preventing recurrence of safety issues.
  • Support emergency response planning and preparedness activities across operational environments.
  • Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies improving workplace safety and compliance outcomes.
Training, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Deliver safety training programs ensuring employee awareness of policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Maintain training records and track completion ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards supporting safety performance tracking and leadership visibility.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve safety processes and operational effectiveness.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives enhancing safety culture and organizational performance.
Skills, Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, safety, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum three to five years of experience in EHS, safety, or compliance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and workplace safety practices.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations within operational environments.
  • Experience maintaining compliance documentation and supporting regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Ability to analyze safety data and implement improvements reducing risk and incident rates.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
  • Effective communication skills to deliver training and collaborate across teams and leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced operational and compliance environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address safety issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety certifications such as CSP preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and virtual platforms.
  • Ability to review data, reports, and documentation for extended durations.
  • Ability to travel to business locations or operational sites as required.
  • Ability to perform light physical activity including standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
