Position Summary

Fluoro-Plastics, Inc. is a 75-year-old plastics processing company specializing in the compression molding and processing of PTFE and other high-performance plastics.

The Laborer will train on multiple machines and production processes. Work may include molding, saw cutting, inspection, material handling, packaging, shipping, and other production duties as assigned.

Previous PTFE or plastics experience is not required. Job-specific training will be provided.

Responsibilities

·   Load and unload molds and materials.

·   Operate hydraulic presses, saws, and other production equipment after training.

·   Set and monitor machine controls according to work instructions.

·   Measure and inspect material and finished parts.

·   Read and follow sales orders, setup sheets, drawings, and production paperwork.

·   Complete required production and quality records.

·   Move raw materials, molds, work-in-process, and finished products throughout the plant.

·   Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment after training and qualification.

·   Package and prepare finished products for shipment.

·   Keep machines and work areas clean and organized.

·   Assist with basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

·   Perform other production duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Shop Math: Ability to work with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and basic manufacturing calculations.

Measurement: Ability to accurately use a tape measure and learn to use micrometers and calipers.

Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable working with tools and machinery and able to learn how equipment operates.

Reading: Ability to read and follow work instructions, production paperwork, dimensions, and basic drawings.

Attention to Detail: Ability to follow specifications, accurately record information, and identify problems.

Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality.

Ability to Learn: Ability to take instruction and learn multiple machines and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualifications (Not required)

·   Previous manufacturing or industrial experience.

·   Experience using tools or production equipment.

·   Experience using calipers, micrometers, or other measuring equipment.

·   Forklift experience.

·   Basic mechanical or maintenance skills.

·   Ability to read mechanical drawings.

·   Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and handle up to 50 lbs. Heavier or difficult-to-handle loads are moved using assistance or material-handling equipment.

Position Details

Job Type: Full-time  |  Pay: $19.00–$23.00/hour, based on experience  |  Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday  |  Shift: First and second shift available
Overtime: Available  |  Work Location: In person
