Solar Electrician

Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems for various projects in the solar installation process.

$500.00 Sign On Bonus After 90 Day Probation Period

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Install Tesla Powerwall 3, comissioning after install, interconnecting with roof system
• Complete projects within established policies and procedures
• Complete projects within time frames and budgets
• Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety
• Assemble the solar array racking, properly seal all roof penetrations, and install all relative equipment
• MSP Rebuilds & Upgrades
• Responsible for the groundwork of a solar installation which includes the connection to the MSP
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues
• Communicate with customers in a professional, and respectful manner, answering all questions and complaints to the best of your ability
• Document proper paperwork for each job completed
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to read blueprints
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Education and Experience:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• Solar or relevant experience is preferred

Licensed - Completion of a formal apprenticeship and proof of valid electrician's license required

Unlicensed - Must be enrolled in a trade apprenticeship

Driving Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must have a clean driving record as determined by a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
• Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
• Must be able to work at great heights.
• Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Work Environment:

• PV installation is done outdoors. Installers work on rooftops but also sometimes work in attics and crawl spaces to connect panels to the electrical grid.
• PV installers work as part of a team and may require the help of technicians and electricians.

Compensation/Benefits:

In addition to base compensation, employees are eligible for the following performance-based installation incentives:

• Electrical Service Change: $600.00 per completed service change.
• Subpanel Upgrade Only: $250.00 per completed subpanel upgrade.
• 200 Amp or Less Service with One Tesla Powerwall 3 Installation: $325.00 per completed installation.
• 400 Amp or Less Service with Two Tesla Powerwall 3 Installations: $650.00 per completed installation.

Performance incentives are paid based on completed and approved installations in accordance with company standards and policies.
