Clear Creek serves the mountain communities of Idaho Springs, Georgetown, Empire, Dumont, Silver Plume, and parts of Evergreen. Our county is well‑suited for outdoor adventure. Pre‑Employment Requirement The successful candidate will be required to complete fingerprinting through an approved fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance. Position Summary The Early Literacy Coach supports the implementation of scientifically and evidence‑based reading instruction in alignment with the Colorado READ Act. This role focuses on ensuring all students in preschool through third grade achieve reading competency by the end of third grade. The coach builds educator capacity through coaching, professional learning, and data‑driven practices, with a strong emphasis on early identification, intervention, and closing achievement gaps for students with significant reading deficiencies (SRDs). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support district and school compliance with the Colorado READ Act requirements, including implementation of approved core and supplemental instructional programs Ensure fidelity of evidence‑based reading instruction aligned with the science of reading (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension) Assist in the identification and support of students with Significant Reading Deficiencies (SRDs) Collaborate with staff to develop, implement, and monitor READ Plans for identified students Support communication processes with families regarding READ Plans and student progress Facilitate communications with the Implementation Coach All grant administration and compliance for ELG Grant, including knowledge and understanding of the allowable uses of the grant funding as well as budget tracking responsibility Provide job‑embedded coaching (modeling, co‑teaching, observation, feedback cycles) aligned to structured literacy practices Support teachers in delivering explicit, systematic, and cumulative reading instruction Assist with planning differentiation and targeted instruction to meet the needs of struggling readers and diverse learners Facilitate reflective coaching conversations focused on improving literacy outcomes Support administration and analysis of state‑approved interim reading assessments (e.g., universal screeners required under the READ Act) Guide teachers in using assessment data to identify SRDs and inform instruction Monitor student progress through ongoing progress monitoring aligned with READ Act requirements Collaborate with teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of reading data Design and deliver professional development on READ Act requirements, structured literacy, and assessment practices Build teacher understanding of SRD identification, READ Plans, and intervention strategies Lead PLCs focused on early literacy data, instruction, and continuous improvement Support onboarding of new teachers in READ Act‑aligned practices Support selection, implementation, and evaluation of CDE‑approved instructional materials and interventions Assist in aligning curriculum and instructional practices with Colorado Academic Standards and READ Act expectations Ensure tiered literacy supports (MTSS) are aligned with READ Act requirements Partner with principals and district leadership to monitor school‑level READ Act implementation Participate in district literacy planning and reporting efforts Serve as a resource for staff and families on early literacy development and READ Act expectations Grant reporting requirements: Mid‑year progress report, End‑of‑year evaluation, Implementation consultant reports, Final/closeout reporting, Ongoing student data tied to literacy outcomes Required travel to multiple locations, must have reliable transportation Other duties as assigned Experience Required: Minimum of 3–5 years successful teaching experience in early literacy (PK‑3). Demonstrated knowledge of the Colorado READ Act and evidence‑based reading instruction. Experience using literacy assessment systems and data to inform instruction. Preferred: Experience supporting students with Significant Reading Deficiencies (SRDs). Prior instructional coaching or leadership experience. Knowledge, Experience and Other Qualifications Deep understanding of structured literacy and science of reading practices Knowledge of READ Act requirements, including SRDs, READ Plans, and approved assessments Ability to analyze literacy data and guide instructional decisions Strong coaching and learning facilitation skills Ability to ensure compliance while supporting instructional excellence Commitment to equity and improving outcomes for all students Expectations Is flexible Has the ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and co‑workers Has the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions Has the ability to perform responsibilities without the necessity of close supervision Has the ability to effectively communicate with the school and school District community, as well as the public at large Has the ability to meet attendance standards and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the job Maintains a generally positive attitude Observes all District policies and procedures Certificates, Licenses and Registrations Bachelor's degree in Education or related field. Valid teaching license (Early Childhood and/or Elementary Education preferred) Preferred: Master's degree in Literacy, Reading, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field. Reading Specialist or Literacy endorsement. Completion of or willingness to complete READ Act teacher training requirements. Work Environment The noise level is typical of a school district. Physical Requirements Frequent sitting, bending, reaching; stooping, squatting. Occasional lifting five (5) to twenty five (25) pounds. Supervisory Duties None.
