Overnight Laundry Aide

Department: Housekeeping

Reports To: Plant Operations Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Lincoln Village Healthcare Center, Lincoln, IL

PAY: $15.00 per hour
Full-Time 4:00PM-12:00AM

What We Are Looking For:

The Overnight Laundry Aide is responsible for collecting, cleaning, drying, folding, and delivering linens and personal laundry for residents in a safe, sanitary, and timely manner. This position plays a vital role in ensuring residents have clean, comfortable linens and clothing, contributing to their quality of life and the overall cleanliness of the facility.

What You Will Do:

Laundry Processing

• Collect soiled linens and personal clothing from designated areas and transport them to the laundry room.

• Operate commercial washers and dryers according to established procedures.

• Sort laundry by color, fabric type, and store clean linens in designated areas.

• Return clean personal clothing to the correct resident in a timely manner.

Resident Care & Service

• Handle residents’ personal laundry with care and respect.

• Communicate with residents and staff about lost or damaged clothing.

• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPPA guidelines when handling residents’ belongings.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow infection control protocols for handling soiled laundry.

• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

• Safely operate laundry equipment and report any malfunctions immediately.

• Maintain a clean and organized laundry area.

  Supply Management

• Monitor linen supply levels and notify supervisor when restocking is needed.

• Assist with inventory of linens and laundry supplies as requested.

What You Will Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous laundry experience in a healthcare or senior living setting preferred.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Compassion and respect for elderly and disabled individuals.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.

• Frequent bending, standing, and walking.

• Ability to tolerate heat and humidity from laundry equipment.

Work Environment:

The Laundry Aide works primarily in the laundry room but will move throughout the facility to collect and deliver laundry. The role involves working with cleaning agents, exposure to heat from equipment, and possible exposure to infectious agents.
