COBOL/CICS Developer - Payroll Applications

Salary: $123,000 - 163,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent training.
• At least 4 years of experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, and DB2.
• Experience supporting payroll applications is preferred.
• Experience using Agile methodology.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must be a US citizen, with no dual citizenship.
• Must be able to obtain DoD Public Trust clearance; candidates selected without the required clearance will undergo a federal government background investigation to obtain it.
• Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
• Must not have spent more than 6 months traveling outside the United States during the past 5 years; military service is excluded.

• Verify that requirements meet client needs and government standards using formal verification methods.
• Convert high-level product development strategies into system requirements specifications and collaborate with other engineering disciplines on detailed implementation requirements.
• Establish and coordinate standards, practices, and procedures for product development.
• Design interfaces and integrate system elements so they work together as a cohesive system.
• Evaluate system performance against established criteria and technical performance measures.
• Liaise with customers and support business development by understanding and shaping requirements.
• Contribute to system conceptual design and document design concepts.
• Participate in hardware and software design reviews, assess component suitability, and maintain requirements traceability through verification and validation.
• Review test plans and procedures for contractual compliance and take part in testing to validate requirements.
• Modify databases and database management systems, or guide programmers and analysts in making necessary changes.
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions, specify database identifiers, or direct others in this work.
• Coordinate database development as part of a project team and establish project scope and limitations.
• Review database project requests and estimate the time and cost needed to complete them.
