J. P. Morgan Wealth Management - Suitability Product Team Associate

Regulatory Programs and Transformation – drives and executes critical regulatory change initiatives that create tangible value for clients and advisors in the $6B+ revenue Wealth Management (WM) business. Our transformation programs are sponsored by C-suite executives and span growth, regulatory, and location strategy. The team works cross-functionally with Senior Management, Front Office Advisors, Product Specialists, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Technology, and Supervision to implement complex, transformational change.

Our Regulatory Programs and Transformation team is a thought-leader on how to comply and is responsible for driving the end-to-end development of solutions, ultimately becoming a subject matter expert in the rule and business models. The team provides ongoing support post implementation and builds on the knowledge gained to continue to drive improvements, respond to industry changes, as well as feedback from auditors, regulators, and the business.

As a Senior Associate on the Regulatory US Strategic Suitability product team within the Regulatory Programs and Transformation Group, you will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of solutions that maintain our FINRA 2111 obligations for our SEC 17a3 playback letter and harmonized suitability questionnaire. This includes writing, reviewing, and signoff of requirements, Operating Model development/maintenance, provide oversight reporting, and escalation of regulatory operating business model observations, helping to maintain compliance with policies, procedures, processes, and technology established to meet regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support specific workstreams within individual projects and assist in the development and deployment of the Strategic Operating model of your assigned project or Program.
• Lead or assist key workstreams or working groups in the delivery of US Suitability initiatives in partnership with the Front Office, Product, Marketing, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations and Technology.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of full operating models (e.g., organizational structures, governance, processes, controls, and technology tools).
• Identify challenges, gaps, and opportunities for improvement (and report findings in a simple, compelling way).
• Organize related in-flight programs that cross-impact, or are dependent on your assigned workstream, project, or program.
• Analyze large data sets to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement, and raise points in a simple and compelling way.
• Escalate findings within the team and manage follow-ups.
• Guide or execute remediations or corrective actions, as needed.
• Collaborate on requirements and input them into Jira.
• Participate in the product lifecycle and governance checkpoints by applying process improvement, organizational design, change management, and internal communication and training strategies.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Must hold FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) and Series 99 licenses, or be able to secure the licenses within 120 days of hire.
• 3+ years of experience in product, project management, process improvement, and/or data analytics.
• 3+ years of experience with the wealth management infrastructure, including advisors, client service, product, technology, operations, supervision, and controls.
• Strong analytical and logical thinking to understand large data sets and complex business processes. Willingness to learn how to identify trends, themes, and opportunities from the information.
• Intermediate to advanced experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• College degree (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
• Experience with compliance, supervision, controls, and/or legal initiatives.
• Jira experience preferred.
