We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our team on a large-scale  Data Center construction project in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile commercial construction project with a company that values safety, quality, and teamwork.

What You'll Do:

• Move equipment and material as needed
• Comply with company policies, OSHA regulations and building codes
• Operate equipment of various sizes and weights, both safely and efficiently
• Maintain a valid equipment operator’s certification(s), and/or Commercial Driver License (CDL)
• Stay abreast of new and upcoming legislation and policies/procedures related to equipment operation
• Perform routine cleaning on equipment, as required; document qualifying maintenance responsibilities on daily log
• Report any maintenance or repairs needs to appropriate Supervisor
• Complete daily inspections and maintenance checks on equipment prior to operation
• Ensure equipment is stored safely when not in use
• Maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility
• Adhere to direction from assigned Foreman regarding daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite

• Perform other duties as assigned
  

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and /or ability required.

• Minimum of 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience in commercial or industrial construction.
• Experience with large-scale projects such as data centers, industrial facilities, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
• Forklift Certificate is required.

What We're Looking For:

• Education :
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred
    
• Experience:
  • A valid Class A or B license from the State of Iowa
    
• Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measure
  • Ability to make complex cuts not to waste material, and figure out complex forming systems
  • Training and complying with all safety rules, and performing without constant supervision 
    
• Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively with customers and co-workers

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, sit, stand and walk on uneven ground; use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; frequently make repetitive reaching and other movements with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee frequently is required to speak and listen and must regularly lift and/or move materials. Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must wear all company or project required personal protective equipment (PPE), regularly work in outside weather conditions, be aware of close moving mechanical parts, and perform in high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Employee must also be able to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime, per the needs of the project (weekends and holidays included).
