Pay rate: $26.00- $30.00/hr, Hours: 5:00am- 1:30pm or 6:00am- 2:30pm, M-F. Overtime and weekend work may be required or available based on business needs Location: Fremont, CA Duration: 3 months

Position Summary

The Storeroom Clerk plays a key role in supporting plant operations by ensuring effective inventory management and timely availability of maintenance parts and materials. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and issuing inventory while maintaining accurate records in company systems. The role partners closely with the Senior Storeroom Attendant, maintenance planners, and production teams to drive efficiency, support reliability, and contribute to a safe and well organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counting and physical inventory processes in alignment with company standards
• Organize and store parts and materials to support efficient retrieval and proper stock rotation
• Issue parts and supplies to maintenance personnel and ensure accurate transaction recording
• Identify and report inventory discrepancies, shortages, and obsolete materials
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips
• Accurately document discrepancies such as shortages, damages, or backorders
• Unload and store materials in designated locations following established procedures
• Complete daily receiving transactions in SAP or other ERP systems
• Maintain inventory accuracy within SAP or company ERP systems
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Excel, Outlook) for communication, tracking, and reporting
• Assist with resolving discrepancies impacting vendor payments and purchase orders
• Maintain organized documentation and audit-ready records
• Collaborate with maintenance teams, planners, and supervisors to ensure timely availability of parts
• Support maintenance planning activities by tracking inventory and critical spare parts
• Contribute to minimizing downtime through effective inventory coordination
• Follow all Saint-Gobain safety policies, procedures, and safe work instructions
• Consistently wear required PPE and promote a safety-first culture
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant storeroom environment (5S standards preferred)
• Operate material handling equipment safely and in accordance with training

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions (basic to intermediate level)
• Strong attention to detail and basic math/counting skills
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to learn internal systems quickly
• Experience working with SAP, ERP systems, or stockroom inventory management systems preferred
• Ability to work safely in an industrial/manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated reliability, dependability, and punctuality

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a storeroom, warehouse, or manufacturing environment
• Experience supporting maintenance operations or inventory planning
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift

Equipment & Certifications

Forklift certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days Ability to safely operate: o Forklifts o 4-wheel electric carts o Pallet jacks o Hand trucks and portable lift equipment

Work Environment

Industrial/manufacturing environment Exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
