Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery PRN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of TX or compact Certifications: BLS required (AHA only) Must-Have: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred Current certification in AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) Current STABLE certification required Current NRP certification required Current ACLS certification required (AHA only) Description: The competent nurse practices independently in a similar clinical setting. The nurse demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with nursing practice standards, the nurse provides care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using appropriate protocols, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
