General Superintendent – Electrical Construction

Location: Houston, Texas

Elite Executive Solutions is conducting a confidential search for an experienced General Superintendent to lead field operations for a well-established electrical contractor in the Houston, Texas market.

This is a critical leadership opportunity with a company that has a substantial backlog of work, including a strong concentration of complex healthcare projects.

The selected individual will oversee multiple Superintendents and provide leadership across several projects, field teams, and operational priorities. The ideal candidate will bring extensive electrical construction experience, strong field leadership, and the ability to develop people, improve operational performance, and successfully execute a growing portfolio of work.

For the right person, this position offers the potential to advance into a future Chief Operating Officer role based on performance, leadership capabilities, organizational fit, and the company's long-term needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight to multiple Superintendents and their respective project teams.
• Direct field operations across multiple commercial electrical construction projects.
• Support the successful execution of a substantial backlog of current and upcoming work.
• Establish consistent expectations for safety, quality, productivity, scheduling, manpower planning, and project execution.
• Coordinate closely with ownership, executive leadership, project management, preconstruction, and field teams.
• Review project schedules, labor forecasts, staffing requirements, production goals, and operational risks.
• Allocate field leadership and manpower resources across multiple projects based on changing priorities.
• Monitor project performance and address scheduling, labor, coordination, productivity, or quality concerns before they affect project outcomes.
• Ensure field teams have the information, materials, equipment, and resources required to execute successfully.
• Develop and mentor Superintendents, General Foremen, Foremen, and other emerging field leaders.
• Improve communication, accountability, and consistency across field operations.
• Build strong relationships with general contractors, owners, trade partners, inspectors, and internal stakeholders.
• Support the successful delivery of complex healthcare and commercial electrical projects.
• Contribute to long-term operational planning, organizational growth, and leadership development.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial electrical construction preferred.
• Previous experience as a General Superintendent, Regional Superintendent, Director of Field Operations, or comparable senior field leader.
• Proven experience overseeing multiple Superintendents, projects, and large field organizations.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, sequencing, manpower planning, labor productivity, scheduling, quality, and safety.
• Healthcare construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience managing complex, large-scale commercial electrical projects.
• Demonstrated ability to identify operational risks and implement corrective action.
• Strong record of developing Superintendents and other field leaders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with ownership, executives, project managers, clients, and field personnel.
• Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Executive-level leadership potential and the ability to assume broader operational responsibility over time.
• Ability to relocate to the Houston area.

Compensation & Benefits

• $200,000+ base salary, depending on experience.
• Total compensation potential of approximately $300,000.
