About the Role

The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will be a key player in the fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, providing autonomous legal counsel on a wide range of business matters. This includes drafting, redlining, and negotiating various agreements, offering legal advice on regulatory compliance, privacy laws, and insurance/service contract matters, and managing outside counsel on litigation issues. The role also involves supporting M&A activities, ensuring legal compliance in marketing and training materials, and engaging with trade associations. The ideal candidate will have a JD, be an active member of a US State Bar, and have at least 7 years' of legal experience, with a majority in an in-house counsel role for a business of similar complexity. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should have a strong generalist background, with a preference for experience in regulatory compliance, insurance, or a regulated industry. The role requires a proven ability to manage outside counsel, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work as a self-starter with a high level of autonomy. M&A due diligence experience is also preferred. The company values a candidate who is a quick learner, can keep pace with an ambitious business, and is comfortable with direct interaction with C-Suite executives.
