Job Summary

Join a dedicated surgical team in Kealakekua, Hawaii, for a 13-week travel assignment as an Operating Room Registered Nurse. This role involves providing expert nursing care to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures in an acute care setting. You will be an integral part of the perioperative team, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes throughout the surgical experience.

As an OR RN, you will manage patient care from pre-operative assessment through intra-operative support and post-operative handoff. This includes preparing the operating room, assisting surgeons, monitoring patient vitals, and maintaining a sterile environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong critical thinking and collaborative skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the operating room.
• Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures, anticipating needs.
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques.
• Monitor patient physiological status during surgery and respond to changes.
• Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly.
• Provide patient advocacy and ensure patient safety throughout the surgical process.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an Operating Room RN.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
• Experience in a variety of surgical specialties (e.g., general, ortho, neuro, vascular).
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
