Fleet Mechanic

Job TitleSkilled work in the general and major repair of cars, trucks and other City equipment.Essential Job DutiesThe following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.Perform mechanical and service work on all City vehicles, trucks and other equipment such as: front ends; four wheel brake job; tire replacement/repair; electrical repair; tune-ups; carburetors/FI repairs; drive train repairs; diesel repair/minor/service.Pick up and deliver vehicles to various vendors.Repair parts on vehicles and equipment.Minimum QualificationsHigh school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.At least four (4) years mechanical experience in the automotive/truck repair.Completion of mechanical school or accredited technical school completion.Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with a good driving record.Must possess a Class B, CDL, with air brake endorsement or obtain it within six (6) months of the hiring date.ASE Certification in truck or automotive repair preferred.Supplemental InformationPhysical Demands/Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
