Quality Assurance TechnicianJob ClassificationJob Type: Full-timeLocation: Richlands, VAFLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports To: Quality Assurance SupervisorJob SummaryThe Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting final inspection checks on cranes deemed complete by the production department, in accordance with Tadano Mantis Corporation guidelines. This role ensures that all crane systems, documentation, and cosmetic standards meet customer expectations and internal quality benchmarks. The technician plays a key role in identifying and resolving non-conforming issues, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining safety and compliance throughout the inspection process.Key ResponsibilitiesReview the exterior of cranes for cosmetic appearance and alignment with customer satisfaction standardsInspect the interior of cranes to verify control functionality and cosmetic qualityOperate cranes to ensure all functions are working properlyVerify accuracy and performance of Load Moment Indicator (LMI) systems (3B6 / AML-C)Document non-conforming issues and report findings promptly to the Quality Assurance ManagerConfirm that all corrections meet Tadano Mantis quality approval standardsReview crane documentation packages for accuracy and completenessCollaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve non-conforming issues in a timely manner Support manufacturing initiatives including 5S, lean manufacturing, process controls, and cost reduction effortsTroubleshoot quality issues on the production floor as neededEnsure accuracy and calibration of inspection toolsComplete crane documentation packages including printing, reviewing, and scanning; report missing items to the department supervisorConduct all inspection activities in a safe manner to prevent injury and maintain compliance with safety protocolsPerform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance ManagerQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent3–5 years of experience in quality assurance or a related manufacturing role preferredStrong safety awareness and adherence to company safety policiesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingWillingness to learn and apply correct load chart usage and operational standardsCore CompetenciesQuality Inspection and DocumentationCrane Operation and Function VerificationLMI System KnowledgeProblem-Solving and TroubleshootingAttention to DetailSafety and ComplianceCross-Functional CollaborationTechnical CommunicationTime ManagementContinuous ImprovementAmericans with Disabilities Act (ADA) RequirementsThis job operates in a professional office environment.
