RN – Night Shift – Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 17 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift – 12 Hours

Weekly Gross Pay: $2,300 – $2,500/week, based on experience

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 17-week travel contract supporting child and adolescent inpatient psychiatric services .

The RN will provide safe, effective nursing care in an acute-care psychiatric setting, perform patient assessments, deliver appropriate nursing interventions, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in child and adolescent inpatient psychiatric units .
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and provide appropriate acute-care nursing interventions.
• Perform the majority of required patient-care skills with minimal orientation and supervision.
• Provide safe, effective, and compassionate care in an acute-care psychiatric environment.
• Maintain strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and clinical care.
• Work every other weekend and some holidays as required.
• Follow established clinical, safety, and infection-control standards.

Required Qualifications

• Current and active New York State RN license/registration .
• Current BLS certification with the ability to recertify as required.
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent RN experience within the past 2 years in an acute-care facility of similar size and complexity.
• Recent inpatient psychiatric experience with both children and adolescents is required .
• Adult psychiatric experience is preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience is highly desired.
• Level I Trauma Center experience is highly desired.
• Travel nurses should have experience working in hospitals of comparable or greater size and complexity or within trauma-center environments.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to provide independent, safe, and effective patient care with minimal supervision.
• Clean professional licensing and certification history.
• Must meet all applicable professional and employment credentialing requirements.
• Verification of legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of required pre-employment health clearance.
• Successful completion of required drug screening.
• Successful completion of criminal background screening.
