Lead Field Service Specialist - Automated NDE

Job Description Summary The Lead Services Specialist - Automated NDE is part of the GE Hitachi Nuclear Inspection team and works to inspect nuclear power plants around the world during our customers' refueling outages. Our team deploys a variety of manual and robotic inspection techniques to fit our customers' dose reduction and schedule goals. The In Service Inspection (ISI) team focuses on inspections outside of the reactor vessel and piping and components critical to safe operation. This role provides technical direction and assists the Lead Engineer with oversight of NDE activities on nuclear power plant inspection projects. This technical direction involves communication with customers and supervision of up to 15 contractors and co-workers. The role, additionally, is responsible to support development of processes, techniques, and tooling to meet business needs. This role will primarily focus on filling roles as an automated NDE Data Analyst, Project Level III and/or automated operator. This role involves planning inspection scopes, verifying procedure use and adherence, analyzing automated and manual UT data, and creating UT data reports. The person in this role will work to prepare inspection techniques, procedures, and inspection schedules prior to nuclear power plant outage inspections. The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters Wilmington, NC but highly qualified remote candidates will be considered. Roles and Responsibilities Provide technical direction and guidance to the GEH inspection teams. Review and analyze automated and manual data with utmost integrity and strict procedure use and adherence. Provide technical justification to customers and regularly interface with Site Level III's. Direct people management responsibilities including staffing, performance development, and execution of policies and strategies. Maintain knowledge of best practices and competitive factors in the market. Make decisions based on technical experience and analytical thinking, utilizing multiple internal and external sources. Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues and lead small low‑risk projects, conveying performance expectations and handling sensitive issues. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED with at least 6 years of experience in automated NDE as a Data Analyst. Eligibility Requirements Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to climb 10 flights of stairs twice per day. Ability to pass respirator fit test and physical examination. Ability to meet Fitness for Duty and site security requirements for unescorted access. Ability to work under high‑stress conditions. Ability and willingness to work in radiation‑controlled and radioactively contaminated areas. Ability and willingness to work 12 hrs./day and 7 days/week when needed for project delivery. Desired Characteristics Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs with established project‑management skills. Pay The base pay range for this position is $85,000 to $125,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, including a performance bonus, variable incentive compensation, and equity.
